Hill CDC Training
School of Leadership and Professional Advancement

The Hill Community Development Corporation is in a relatively early phase
of governance development. The board of directors has articulated a need
for additional training in the areas of evaluation of the executive,
governing as opposed to running the agency, appropriate oversight, and
establishing an effective committee structure.

To answer this need, Dr. Benjamin Hodes, founding executive director of
Duquesne's Nonprofit Leadership Institute and founding dean of the School
of Leadership and Professional Advancement, proposes to facilitate a
series of interactive workshops on the topics of evaluation of the
executive, best governance practices, trustees' oversight role, and
effective committees. Some 40 hours will be required for program
development, training, and assessment.
